The short history
Superpower was founded in 2023 by Jacob Peters, Max Marchione and Kevin Unkrich, who moved to San Francisco to build what they call a "health super-app": the idea that your lab work, health data and care guidance should live in one place instead of scattered PDFs. A $4M pre-seed round in 2024 got the product off the ground; in April 2025 the company announced a $30M Series A led by Forerunner, which Forbes covered alongside a reported valuation above $300M.
The pricing story matters if you're comparing older reviews: earlier coverage describes a $499/year membership, but Superpower has since moved to $199/year as the standard price, which is what superpower.com lists today and what this site's math is based on.
How the testing side works
Superpower doesn't run its own draw sites; blood is collected at Quest Diagnostics locations and analyzed through CLIA-certified labs, with physicians ordering and reviewing the panels. That's the same clinical infrastructure your doctor's office uses; the difference is the panel's breadth and the software layer on top. Flagged results come with defined escalation timelines rather than a voicemail lottery.
